Campus Profile

The Early College High School (ECHS) was established in Hutto ISD during the 2024–2025 school year. It is a unique school that offers students rigorous coursework in high school and college. This enables students to simultaneously earn a high school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree from Temple College at no cost to the student or their family.

The ECHS operates as a School Within a School (SWAS) model. The entire ECHS program is housed at the flagship Hutto High School campus. All ECHS students, from freshmen through seniors, take all of their classes, including the dual credit courses, at Hutto High School.

This unique school within a traditional high school setting is designed around the bold idea that academic rigor, combined with the opportunity to save time and money toward a college degree, are powerful motivators for students to work hard and rise to new intellectual challenges.
