Hutto, a growing community of over 25,000, is located in Central Texas. Prior to experiencing such an accelerated growth rate, Hutto was known as a small, rural farming community located on Highway 79 just 8 miles east of IH-35. Today, Hutto is just west of Round Rock on Highway 79, centrally located between Georgetown to the north, and Austin to the south.
School Description
Hutto High School is a diverse public high school that provides a well-rounded curriculum which allows students to design unique pathways that enable post-secondary success. Students are able to choose from regular academic classes, Pre-AP classes in all core academic areas, over 20 Advanced Placement courses, fine arts, athletics, career and technology, as well as a variety of extracurricular activities, clubs and student organizations.
Approximately 50.7% of our high school students will attend a 4 year college and 15% percent a two year college. Approximately 37.5% of our high school students are eligible for free and reduced lunch or need-based financial aid.
Total enrollment for grades 9-12 is 2935 with a 2024 senior class of 555

A = 90 - 100
B = 80 - 89
C =70=79
F = 69 or lower
Marking System
Hutto High School is currently on a 9 period day. There are two 18-week semester grading periods Twenty-six credits are required for a Foundation with Endorsement or Distinguished graduate for 2024.
A grade of 70% or more achieves credit. If the Class is a two-semester course, then each semester grade is averaged for credit awarded.
However, to be averaged together for the whole credit, each semester average must be a 60 or higher.
Class Rank
Semester grades in English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Foreign Language are used to calculate a student's GPA and class rank.
Class rankings are calculated using the following system:
Honors, Advanced, and Dual Credit: 5 points Regular Classes: 4 points
