Mr. Johnny Kay
Lead Counselour
I am Mr. Johnny Kay and this is my thirty-first year as an educator. After obtaining my bachelor’s degree from Abilene Christian University, I taught a variety of social studies classes at Frenship High School for six years. I completed a master’s degree from Texas Tech University and began working as a school counselor. I have been both an elementary and a high school counselor in West Texas and the Austin area.
This is my twelvth year in Hutto ISD. The past two years I was a counselor at the Hutto Ninth Grade Center. I am very excited to return to Hutto High School where I will continue to work as a school counselor.
I believe that education is the key to providing students with access to a variety of opportunities for success. In my role as a school counselor I have the privilege of working with students to help them navigate their path through high school and beyond. I also cherish working with parents and fellow educators to support each student. I feel strongly that the Hutto High School is making life changing impacts in the lives of our students and that is why I am very excited to be a part of this wonderful campus.
