Principal Secretaries

Mrs. Mary Standard

Principal's Secretary

Hello, my name is Mary Standard. I am the Administrative Assistant to the Principal and the Campus Secretary at Hutto High School.  I have two fabulous children, Sarah and Jacob, who both attended and graduated from Hutto High School and my husband and I will be celebrating our 30th anniversary September, 2023.

Prior to working at HHS, I was the Administrative Assistant to the Lt. Colonel at the TX Department of Public Safety.  I was with the Department for 20 plus years, but the trek into Austin began to take its toll so I decided to find employment closer to home.  I happened upon a job opening at Hutto High School, and so, my education journey began.

In 2009 I was hired as the HHS Attendance Clerk.  I fell in love immediately!  The feeling of family was instant, I knew I was where I belonged.  Both of my kids were horrified that I would be working at the school they would eventually be attending.  It all worked out, in fact they loved it.  Many of their friends who are now teachers still call me “Mama Standard” and I love it!  In 2012 I became the HHS Bookkeeper and in 2014 I was promoted to my current position as Administrative Assistant to the Principal and the Campus Secretary. I love coming to work and engaging with the staff and students and adding to my extended family.  Afterall, this is my home away from home.
