I received my Bachelors of Music Education and Bachelors of Music Therapy from Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music in 1984. I earned a Masters of Education in Special Education from The University of Texas at Austin in 1989. I have 26 years of teaching experience in music education, and I have taught at all grade levels. I started the Hutto High School Choir program in 2003. Under my direction, the Varsity Treble Choir has received superior ratings in both concert and sight reading at the UIL Region 26 Concert and Sightreading Contest. In 2010, this same group won Sweepstakes. Since the inception of the choir, members have qualified for the Texas State Solo and Small Ensemble Contest. Over the years, the majority of students have been awarded gold and silver medals for their performances at this contest. The choir has had members qualify for the Area Audition of the Texas Music Educators Association State Choir. In 2015, one of our choir members earned a chair in the TMEA All State Women's Choir. Choir members have performed in Philadelphia at the Boscov's Thanksgiving Parade, New York City, and Disney World. My husband, Bill, and I live near Hutto, Texas. Our daughter, Veronica, will be a Senior at Texas State University; where she is finishing her degrees in Vocal Performance and Political Science. We share our home with our two dogs, Clara and Elvis; who were both rescued from the shelter. Our family enjoys traveling far and near..
